Spring 2017 ArizMATYC Meeting At Mohave Community College

Join mathematics faculty throughout the state of Arizona for the Spring 2017 Arizona Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges Conference (ArizMATYC).

The conference will be held on Friday, March 31 at Mohave Community College in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The Conference sessions are designed to encourage the development of effective mathematics programs, afford a state forum for the interchange of ideas, further develop and improve the mathematics education and mathematics related experiences of students in two year colleges, provide the opportunity to study and keep abreast of new trends in mathematics, and promote professional cooperation and communication between two- and four-year institutions for the realization of sound educational achievements.

Registration

Online Registration is currently closed. You may register on-site Friday morning. 

The conference fee is $20 and includes lunch and an ArizMATYC membership. To register for the conference, you must first fill out the general registration form. After you have completed your registration, you may pay for your registration via Paypal (using a Paypal account or a credit card) or you may pay on the day of the conference (with cash, check or credit card).

Vendors

ArizMATYC welcomes vendors to attend the conference. Vendors may purchase tables ($100 / $175) or a presentation ($100). Sponsorship is also available for the conference meals (breakfast/lunch). Contact the ArizMATYC Treasurer (treasurer@arizmatyc.org) for availability.

From the North: Take I-40 West to Exit 9, AZ Highway 95 to Lake Havasu/Parker. Follow Highway 95 South to Acoma Blvd West Acoma has a protected stoplight and a sign indicating Mohave Community College Turn left (uphill rather than lakeside) on Acoma, straight through the four-way stop Turn left into the lower MCC parking lot about 0.5 miles up Acoma (park here)

From the South: Take I-10 West to Exit 19 (Quartzite), AZ Highway 95 to Parker *Note: You can also take the Vicksburg Cutoff via Bouse and bypass Quartzite, but there is no local EMS coverage for that route. Turn right on AZ 95, follow Highway 95 North through Parker to Lake Havasu City Follow 95 through town until Acoma Blvd West, just north of Industrial Blvd *You’ll pass Acoma Blvd East on the way through town—don’t turn there unless you’d like to go through the center of town. Acoma has a protected stoplight and a sign indicating Mohave Community College Turn right (uphill rather than lakeside) on Acoma, straight through the four-way stop Turn left into the lower MCC parking lot about 0.5 miles up Acoma (park here)

Whether from the North or the South, you’ll need to take AZ Highway 95—and see some beautiful scenery on either side of town as you approach. The drive between Parker and LHC is especially beautiful, but beware of slow drivers.
